
Professor Han Sung-soo (Chemical Engineering Department) won the ‘Meditex’ prize on November 5th at a 2015 Joint Conference held by the Korean Fiber Society and the Korean Society of Dyers and Finishers at the Busan BEXCO.
‘Meditex’ is awarded by the Korean Fiber Society to honor people who continually research textile engineering and contribute to scholarships or technical progress. Professor Han won this prize as he contributed to textile engineering relating to medical applications.
His major area of study is polymer material application. He published 27 SCI papers and registered 24 patents in the related field. He also actively researches within the medical material field on topics such as biogel applied products and hydrogel filming technology.
Now, Professor Han actively serves as the chief editor at the Conference on National Defense Technology, and he works in various fields and organizations such as the Korean Fiber Society and the Polymer Society of Korea. He is also to be listed in the ‘Marquis Who’s Who’ which is one of the top three biographical dictionaries in the world.
