Most students are concerned about re-taking courses. Many students re-take classes in order to raise their GPA. However, some students who want to re-take classes have complained recently about the current system. Some older male students can’t re-take classes after they finish military service because some of the classes have been discontinued. Yeungnam University has plans to install a new class re-take system next academic year. However, many students who are set to graduate this year will not be able to take advantage of the new system, and they will be forced to graduate with no chance to improve their grades. Required subjects as well as cultural subjects have been changed or canceled which is a serious problem for graduating students. The new credit system that YU plans to install will allow students to substitute classes that they want to replace with equivalent classes, and if no equivalent classes are available they will be given the option to remove the class from their transcript. Even though this is currently a pressing issue, the university has stated that it cannot put a new system in place in the middle of an academic year. Therefore, they plan to install the new system at the beginning of the next academic year. Some students are feeling a sense of frustration with the university’s position. If equivalent classes are opened now, there is a good possibility that they will be canceled because they will be under attended. The university also didn’t say anything about canceled internet classes. In addition, members of previous graduating classes will not have a chance to receive benefits under the new system.Grade management is a very important issue for students who are looking for jobs. We all need the university’s consideration and timely action.
