Daehak Alrimi (www.academyinfo.go.kr) is a government website. This site announced public statistics regarding university graduates' grade point averages on March 3rd, 2011. According to these statistics, nearly 90 percent of university students earned a B average when they graduated. Transcripts have become less meaningful based on these results. Major companies like Samsung and LG emphasize their own aptitude tests more than university grades when they choose new recruits. Samsung just checks that university grades meet their minimum standards, and then select three times the number of people they wish to hire based on their own aptitude test. In this situation, the systems universities use to evaluate students become meaningless. Therefore, universities have to reconsider and improve their credit system in order to have more meaningful grade allocations.
