On March 7th, 2010, a 29-year-old male Korean film student in Moscow was put in critical condition after being stabbed by a masked attacker in Russia. Fortunately his life is not in danger, but Korean residents abroad are more fearful than ever about violence against them. This incident was not the first. On Feb. 18, a 22-year-old Korean student died three days after being attacked by three youths in Irkutsk. This crime was perpetrated by a Skinhead who is ethnic Russian and is against non-Slavic people or those with non-Slavic appearances. They are becoming more daring in the ways they commit crimes. The Korean Embassy in Russia has asked the Russian government and regional authorities to take strong steps to control ethnic crimes. However, they need to show a more concerned attitude.
