Grass lies down on earth.
Bent by the eastern wind carrying rain,
The grass lay down on earth,
Wept at last.
As the day was cloudy, the grass further wept
And then lay down on earth again.
Grass lies down on earth;
Sooner than the wind.
It weeps sooner than the wind,
Yet rises sooner than the wind.
The day gets cloudy and the grass lies down on earth;
Up to the ankles
and down to the soles of the feet, it lies down.
Though it lies down later than the wind,
It rises earlier than the wind.
Though it weeps later than the wind;
Laughs earlier than the wind.
The day is cloudy: the grass-root lies down.
