The baseball park has been reopened with artificial turf on Gyeongsan Campus. It is only the second baseball park covered in artificial turf throughout the country. The new turf is expected to reduce injuries to players, prove durable over a long time, and be good at excess rain-water management. YU facilities managers want to make the university open to the local community by holding many amateur baseball games at the park. The first of these events was the 87th National Athletic Competition from 17 to 29 October 2006, which was open to university students as well as the general public.
