To welcome the new international students who will study at Yeungnam University in 2024, an International Student Orientation was held on February 28 and 29 at the International Center.
On February 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., an orientation was held for 38 Vietnamese students at the International Center. On February 29, a similar orientation was held for 62 Chinese students and 28 students from other countries.
The Yeungnam Observer interviewed one of the international students participating in the orientation, Italian student Steffanie Mariana Denis Lopez.
Q1. Why did you come to study abroad in Korea?
A1. I fell in love with a Korean singer’s music at an international singer program when I was young. I have become interested in Asian culture since then. I came here because I especially liked Korea, so I studied Korean and wanted to live in Korea.
Q2. What are your impressions after participating in the orientation?
A2. I was confused and had difficulty understanding the documents because there were many unfamiliar words, but I slowly understood them at my own pace and got the information.
Q3. What are your impressions after arriving at the university?
A3. When I first arrived here, I loved the many trees as if they were connected to nature. The nature-friendly campus was beautiful. I also realized the size of the campus by seeing many cars and people.
