YU submitted a proposal to end private school disbursement pensions to the Ministry of Education after a controversy. YU had supported individual pension savings accounts for employees instead of increasing pay from 2003 to 2012. However, the Ministry of Education recently uncovered that these savings for pension disbursements were being listed as expenditures for the university. Therefore, it ordered YU to submit a proposal to rectify the situation. YU stated that faculty members would pay 100,000 won autonomously every month for 10 years, and then create scholarship funds for the students. This measure was submitted to the Ministry of Education, but it has not yet been approved. It will be established at the beginning of the semester next year. Keimyung University, Yeungnam College of Science & Technology, and other universities in the area are also facing similar situations for the same reason.
