The 2012 Yeosu World Expo will be held in the new port area of Yeosu, Jeollanam-do from May 12th to August 12th, 2012. Yeosu was recognized as the top place to go and see in 2012 by CNNgo. 105 nations are scheduled to participate in this international event. The subject of the Expo is “The Living Ocean and Coast” and the focus is to find alternative solutions regarding common problems facing the ocean and coastal areas. The expected economic impact is 3,399 billion won and the non-economic impact is also great because Yeosu and the southern coast of Korea will stand out as a new tourist attraction. In addition, there will be spectacular ocean shows and performance festivals on the water, along with K-Pop performances. A standard adult ticket for most events will be 33,000 won. If you have time this summer, you should make it down to Yeosu and help greet the rest of the world.
