Hye-Jin Lee (Food Industry Management, Junior)

How do you do Mr. Lee? I'm Hye-Jin Lee, a student of Yeungnam University.
First of all, congratulations for being installed as the new president of YU. I expect a lot from you. I know, you have a great deal of passion and that you work hard to develop student's abilities as well as plan to open many student centered programs. However sometimes I feel inconvenienced by this university. Please let me tell you about these difficulties and I hope you can improve upon them.
I think there are not enough school buses during our exam periods. There are so many students who must go home at night during those times. As of now the lines of students waiting for a ride on the school buses during exam times are too long. Some students are not able to ride the buses at all because the buses are so full of people. When students study late during exam time it is often already too late to use public buses. Taxi fares are too expensive. This is an unreasonable burden on the students. So, we need more school buses at night during exam periods.
I would like to participate in an overseas volunteer program sponsored by YU. However, I can't because I'm taking a year off from school. I don't understand why students who take a year off from classes are not permitted to participate in these kinds of programs. I heard from one of my friends who took part in one of these programs, that it required at least a month to prepare for the trip. This kind of preparation time is unreasonable to ask of a full time student, but it would be perfect for students like me. I suggest giving an opportunity for overseas volunteer service to more students than is currently offered.
My suggestions are both practical and philosophically based, but I think both can contribute to the development of our school. I hope you'll be remembered as a great president of Yeungnam University after your service is finished.
