Spreading Our Honorable History to the World

Korean students in American colleges held a hooray movement to celebrate the Independence Movement Day at the outdoor performance hall of Central Park in New York City on March 1st, 2013. This movement was put on by three students who attend New York University, and a professor of Sungshin Women’s University, Kyung-duk Seo. This movement also included a performance about Dokdo and a photographic image exhibition which proceeded over the course of five hours. Overall, this contributed greatly to Korea’s public relations, and it was different from the Gangnam Style flash mob held last fall in Washington Square. It is hoped that our lawful claim will be widely understood by New Yorkers through this movement which was held to bring attention to Japan's distorted history dealing with issues like Dokdo and comfort women.
