The national evaluation dealt with curriculum, faculty, facilities, and endowments. In all, 8 categories and 29 detailed evaluation articles for 2009 to 2011 were considered as the initial stage of law school certification. According to the evaluation, a law school that receives a failing grade in 2 of the 8 evaluatio categories will have their certification postponed and a law school that receives a failing grade in 3 categories are designated for reappraisal. As a result, 18 universities including Seoul National University, Yonsei University and Yeungnam University obtained certification. Yeungnam University received “Excellent” grades in job training programs like pro bono legal services and mock trial. In contrast, other prominent universities like, Korea University and Sungkyunkwan University, received certification postponement. Universities that receive certification postponement must have an additional evaluation of the failing articles within one year.
