Google introduced its regional policy last December 26th, after Twitter made a similar move. If Google receives legal clearance to block posts on blogs from specified countries, it will be able to censor at their discretion. However, users in other countries will still be able to see these posts. According to this policy, Google can block posts which are critical of ideology and policies in specified countres. Critics state this policy infringes on freedom of expression. Regional policies are being enforced in Australia, New Zealand and India. Google announced plans to expand this policy globally. We believe people should be able to state their opinions and thoughts freely on both Google and Twitter.
