I would like to pay a tribute to the Yeungnam Observer for their ability to think critically and their absolute independence from YU’s administration. It’s not a magazine dedicated to the glory of YU and they aren't afraid to criticize YU when it's necessary, as shown in the latest issue about the tuition increase at YU. Some articles left a particularly deep impression on me, like the one about the elderly YU cleaning wom an. As a foreigner, The Observer is the only way to keep in touch with what's going on at YU and has systematically included foreign students among its contributors.
