How Is Yeungnam Universityʼs Quarantine Going?

Yeungnam University announced its plan to conduct academic affairs for the second semester from September 1 to October 16, 2020, by conducting non-face-to-face lectures and conducting face-to-face classes for experiments, practice, and practical courses. As a result, the number of students visiting the school is not small, so we looked into the school's quarantine status.

First, we could see hand sanitizers everywhere. Thanks to this, we could see that there was an environment where we could disinfect our hands frequently. Secondly, monitoring stations were set up (near the subway station, main gate, IT hall, and mechanical engineering hall) to check body temperatures. If the temperature is normal, it was required to scan the QR code to register in the smart exit app. A COVID-19 Medical Questionnaire (form) was also required to be checked for fever, but it was recommended that the form be completed at school. Temperature checks should be conducted once a day. In addition, the QR code must be scanned for each building entrance and exit. The school was doing various things to prevent the spread of the virus.

However, most of these processes were left to autonomous operation, creating holes in the quarantine. For example, no one checks whether a visitor has scanned the QR code and if he or she enters another place to avoid the fever check or if he or she writes ʻNo symptomsʼ on the questionnaire. There should be no ʻexceptionʼ in essential matters such as the quarantine. Therefore, it is necessary to be more careful to check one by one.

The schoolʼs quarantine will also be necessary, but it will be more thorough to prevent COVID-19 by taking care of personal hygiene, such as wearing a mask correctly and washing hands frequently. We hope that an environment will be created to prevent the spread of corona through thorough quarantine and personal hygiene.
