The Center for Teaching & Learning at YU will implement the “Self-learning School,” which is a reformed program from the previous “Learning Theme School,” starting in September to raise students’ education quality. Though the previous program changed topics every month, the new program subject will be fixed. The program encompasses four workshops during the semester, targetting enrolled students. Students can apply for the program at the Center for Teaching & Learning web site. The topic consists of self-directed learning, creative learning strategies, goals & time management failure and so on. Kim Hee-jung of the studying department said that the purpose of the program is to make passive study habits learned in public school changed to active ones. Also, she added that the Self-learning School can help students become learners is able to continuous learn. I want to encourage students who need self-development to be active participants.
