In June, locals as well as foreigners without a bank certificate will not be able to buy things online using credit cards. Originally, if you made a purchase of more than 300,000 won, you needed to use a certificate to comply with the rule named “Enforcement Regulations for electronic banking supervision regulations.” However, this rule will be amended. As such, certificate related laws are amended. In the future, card companies and electronic payment agents will autonomously decide whether to use a certificate or not. In the past, individuals were forced to bear the entire damage relating to certificates, but security markets are opening and netizens argued that these problems should be improved. The financial authorities thought that it is a good opportunity to introduce a variety of authentication methods in the country and financial companies can choose which security measure to autonomously use leading to system improvements.
