The Woods Citizens group was formed to represent ‘Dalbitdongmaeng’ of Daegu and Gwangju in each city. Two cities have been promoting various joint businesses together under the name of ‘Dalbitdongmaeng’ being first syllable of Daegu ‘Dalgubul’ and Gwangju ‘Bitgoeul.’ Therefore, the area behind Yaoeeumakdang of Duryu Park has been designated as the Woods Citizens area in Dalseo-gu, Daegu. ‘The woods for people of Gwangju’ built in Daegu is 1000㎡ and there are symbolic monument made of rocks from Gwangju Mudeungsan and Ginkgo trees of Gwangju tree. In the woods citizens of Gwangju, symbolic monuments made of rocks from Daegu’s Palgongsan were built and fir trees of Daegu tree were planted in Daesang Park, Yeongsangangbyeon, Oryong-dong, Buk-gu and Gwangju. Through this program, there is a hope that people will relax and release some of the chronic regional feuds between Gyeongsang-do and Jeolla-do.
