The Korean War International Academic seminar was held at the Daegu Inter-Burgo Hotel. This seminar celebrated the 60th anniversary of the truce that ended active hostilities in the Korean War. Yeungnam University, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and the Korean Army Academy co-hosted this event on the 11th of September. This seminar also shed new light on the Nakdong River Battle’s importance to national security and its meaning in world history. The seminar also dealt with the importance of security education. The Nakdong River Battle, which was the main topic of this seminar, and it is a prime example of a successful defense which eventually paved the way for Operation Chromite’s success. This battle formed the last line of defense to protect liberal democracy from the expansion of communism. About 500 participants including Seok-kyun Noh from Yeungnam University, Kwan-yong Kim the governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do province, and Yo-han Kim deputy commander of operations for the army attended the seminar.
