When I entered YU, my mind was filled with romantic ideals and aspirations. The drinking culture associated with university life was one of them. I have made a wide circle of friends and acquaintances through classes, and clubs, which gave me many opportunities to drink. Therefore, I don’t agree with the drinking prohibition system on campus being imposed by the government. First, we are adults. We have the right to think for ourselves. I am also an university student, and I don’t want my university life to be limited by the government. Drinking is an important part of the social aspect of going to university. Whether we are on or off campus, we can make many friends and form many useful relationships. Therefore, if we are restricted on campus by the government, I feel it is unreasonable.Second, all universities have their own festivals. Festivals are at the core of university life. During festivals, students throw their stress away and make unforgettable memories. However, on those days, if drinking is banned on campus, the festivals will be meaningless. Of course, if many students drink on campus, there can be many problems with the environment and order. In my opinion, the government has to regulate these problems on an individual basis and not with blanket edicts. I think the government is only considering one side of the story. In university, there are positive and negative sides to almost every issue. If these problems become socially serious, government intervention is needed. However, banning drinking on campus can spoil campus life and takes away the freedom and rights of the students.
