From March 19th to 23rd in 2012, the Campus Caravan Forum took place. It was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS). The TCS is an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade that was established in September, 2011 in order to supervise and promote closer cooperation between Korea, Japan and China. From this point forward, the TCS will serve as a cooperative hub for Korea, Japan, and China. It is significant that Yeungnam University, Kangwon University, and Woosuk University were selected as regional representatives of Korea and participated in this forum. On March 21st, 18 students who were selected from the three universities and the president of TCS Sin Bong Gil visited Chamber Hall at Chunma Art Center and held a forum “For Northeast Asian times of peace and co-prosperity” and “the meaning and role of establishment of TCS” with YU students. The Observer hopes that the forum will make YU students think about how Korea, Japan and China can cooperate with each other and create a mutually beneficial synergy.
