Many Americans who are outraged because of economic inequalities, greed, and corruption of the financial authorities demonstrated on September 17th, 2011. The demonstrations occurred near Wall Street in Manhattan around Zuccotti Park. Support for the demonstrations gradually expanded through Social Network Services with youth unemployment as the central issue.
The movement started primarily among twenty-somethings but has grown into a progressive political force. Several prominent labor unions and many civic groups as well as existing demonstrators have taken up their cause. They have focused on Wall Street as the main culprit of the current financial crisis.
The protest on Wall Street has vague prime movers, but there is also a strong bond and atmosphere that is providing a platform for regular people to freely express their opinions.
