On March 1st, 2011, the Western style restaurant 'Madrid', the Chinese restaurant 'Chunmasung' and the cafeteria 'Ppattioh' opened in the Chunma Arts Center. These establishments are operated by the Hotel Inter-Burgo, and they have been introduced to the Chunma Arts Center to help make it a well rounded performance hall and cultural-art space. Madrid and Chunmasung will be open from noon to 10 p.m. The cafeteria will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. These facilities will be open to visitors as well as university faculty, staff, and students of course. However, there has been some tension regarding the prices charged as these new eateries. Students have expressed displeasure regarding the expensive prices, and they feel that the Chunma Arts Center should offer more student appropriate services. For example, the Chinese restaurant 'Chunmasung' sells 'Uni jajangmyeon' and 'Samsun jjamppong' for 5,000 won, which is somewhat overpriced, compared to other local Chinese restaurants. The other menu items are too far out of students price range. Most menu items are over 8000 won. Also, the Western style restaurant 'Madrid' sells seafood spaghetti for 11,000 won and many of their menu items are 20,000 won or more.
The university administration’s opinion is quite different. They explained that it is necessary to differentiate price based on quality because there are more than 20,000 students, faculty, and support staff on campus as well as numerous visitors. They feel that Chunma Arts Center should focus on visitors as its primary clientele in order to raise its status because it is a culture and art space. Administration did acknowledge that students might want to make use of the restaurants and cafe, so the prices compared to the original stores are lower overall.
It's significant for Chunma Arts Center to be able to provide convenience to many visitors through first class facilities. However, they should provide student appropriate services as well because at the end of the day, all of the facilities at Chunma Arts Center are built with the students' tuition.
