Currently it seems the world is at war with immigration laws. Major countries in Europe and Asia are scrambling to strengthen their immigration laws, and the pros and cons of these actions are now more easily identfied. Since the 2008 recession, job losses and increased crime rates have been pointed out as a major causes for stronger immigration regulations. France, which is famous for respecting human rights and tolerance, demolished the camp facilities of illegal immigrants. They also carted off pregnant women and women carrying babies, as the French government refuses to recognize the rights of illegal immigrants. In addition, Australia canceled visa evaluations to reduce the number of people who applied for independent skilled migration prior to January 2007. However, some are concerned about labor shortages after the revision of immigration laws. There has also been an increase in debates over immigrant human rights abuse. We hope that as soon as possible immigration laws are drafted that are mutually beneficial to the host countries and the immigrant alike so there will no longer be a need for this kind of debate.
