The spread of smart phones have created concerns about security. On February 1st, Soongsil University discovered some security holes. They succeeded in making payment using the phone number of another person. They stole certificates when other people paid by SMS in internet shopping malls. They also showed that it was easier to steal personal information from smart phones than other phones.The cause of the security problems is that Microsoft is weak in the area of windows mobile operating systems. A more serious problem is that many Korean companies have adopted this operating system. Therefore, each mobile carrier has begun taking steps to strengthen its defense and to build a cooperative system with vaccine institutes. The Korean Communications Commission announced 10 new safety regulations for smart phone users and raised the people's perceptions.
