  I am a student who is preparing to get a job. I am busy every day, trying to upgrade my abilities. One day, when I was mentally and physically exhausted with my tight schedule, I got a chance to read The Yeungnam Observer's cover story about the Overseas Volunteer Corps. It made me happy. Perhaps you've guessed that I am already a member of the Overseas Volunteer Corps.
  Last winter, I volunteered to visit Vietnam. While I was there, I learned lots of things and made many friends. It was an unforgettable time in my life. However, it has partly slipped from my mind because of my heavy, crammed schedule. As you know, it is sad when one forgets good memories.
  The cover story recalled them to my mind and helped me get through my slump. So I express my gratitude to all the writers and editors of The Yeungnam Observer who, through the article, gave me an unexpected smile. I am sure that this cover story will continue to act as a tonic to my sprit. However, I do not like the cover page. The reason is that the picture does not flatter me.

  Your article on the Overseas Volunteer Corps was very interesting. After I read the article, I felt like taking part myself. I found the section on the Vietnam-team very interesting. When I saw the group picture taken in Cu Chi tunnel, I wanted to leave immediately. I was disappointed that there were not more pictures. I also hope that there will be more content on school events in the future; with a lot of pictures. I'm sure that freshmen are talented enough to provide worthy content for The Yeungnam Observer. I hope that the next issue comes out fast.

  First of all, thank you for introducing a lot of information about our university. I read about the Overseas Volunteer Corps in the March issue. These stories can awaken students' interest and increase their participation in the overseas training programs which our university supports.
  However, when I read the magazine, I wished that you had written about clubs for freshmen. The new term began with an entrance ceremony at the beginning of March and many freshmen wanted to join a club. If freshmen had been able to read about clubs through The Yeungnam Observer, published in March, they could have got more information and actually joined a club.
  I often read this magazine. It's been a great help when I need information and when I need to study English. I hope that you continue to write many good stories and that a lot of people read The Yeungnam Observer in the future.

  It's a long time since I've read The Yeungnam Observer. When I first looked at it, I just read parts of the articles in which I was interested. As time went by, however, I not only found other articles which I hadn't, at first, noticed, but I also saw articles written by my own seniors. After that, I read through the whole magazine. Now, I would like to make a few comments about The Yeungnam Observer. The cover story, "Overseas Volunteer Activity" was introduced well. It was quite a good article because, previously, I had not known what they did exactly. So, next time, why don't you publish an article on the "Buddy Program"? It will make a good news-story. My favorite section of the magazine is "Student's Corner." I hope many students, especially freshmen, will write their thoughts freely. Finally, why don't you make a "Cartoon Corner" in The Yeungnam Observer? I think using cartoons is a good method to familiarize students with the magazine. .....This is what I think about The Yeungnam Observer.

  Some people think that a volunteer is a special kind of person, but I found that they were ordinary people just like you and me. Doing service for poor people is not a difficult thing; it just needs a little of our time and interest. I'm always thinking about voluntary service, but I don't put my thoughts into action. After reading last month's cover-story, "YU's Overseas Volunteer Corps," I felt so ashamed of myself. I should be giving the volunteers' love a helping-hand. Hye-Jin Son Senior, Dept. of Psychology Suddenly, a reporter asked me for a favor. I was very confused. In fact, during my whole university-life, I'd never seen The Yeungnam Observer. However, after meeting with the reporter, I decided to read it in detail. The Yeungnam Observer was better than I thought it would be. The best article was about overseas volunteers. It was full of interesting information about other nations' cultures, food, and landscapes. Before I graduate, I would like to see my letter appear in the magazine. It would give me great pleasure and my heart would be full with pride. I hope The Yeungnam Observer will continue to grow.

 If The Yeungnam Observer wants to appeal to more YU-students, it should write in more detail about their daily lives. Actually, I don't know The Yeungnam Observer very well. It was only when I heard that something called the 'Observer' was introducing overseas volunteer corps, that I realized that our university had an English-language magazine. I think that the magazine has some gaps in its content. When I was a freshman, I didn't have much information about aspects of campus-life such as its most famous restaurant, its Lovers' Lane, and other things like these. Our university is beginning a new semester, so I hope that The Yeungnam Observer will include more information about the university itself.
