In the 20th presidential election of the Republic of Korea held on March 9, Yoon Suk-yeol of the People Power Party was elected president by a narrow margin with Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung. The 20th presidential election, in which 77% of 44,197,692 registered participated, was the fiercest contest ever. In the final vote count, Yoon Suk-yeol was elected only 0.73%p ahead of second-place candidate Lee Jae-myung. This proves that the people think the integration and cooperation of progressive and conservative camps are essential tasks, unlike before.
