As parents and their children become more interested in education, home-schooling attracts their attention. Home-schooling is a way of educating children directly at home without sending them to school.  Many students choose to do home-schooling because they can’t follow the school’s curriculum or have a good relationship with other classmates. However, some people only look at the bad side of home-schooling and have negative opinions about it. People are concerned about home-schooling for the following reasons: its lack of providing social skills to communicate with peers and its untested education courses. Unlike traditional school, home-schooling offers few chances for students to meet peers and does not have a reliable system. However, despite a lot of concerns about home-schooling, I think that home-schooling can make up for the shortcomings of public education.

For instance, public education usually guides students in a uniform way that is optimized for mass education in a pragmatic manner. I think it does not recognize diversity and ignores individual differences. We cannot deny there are cases where people fail to adjust to those systematic schools and want to escape from them. There are also students who aren't interested in learning in a passive way and give up. On the contrary, home-schooling allows children’s diversity to flourish while planning and implementing an education that is customized for each person’s traits. Home-schooling helps remove fear of learning and promotes active attitudes toward it. Furthermore, home-schooling permits students to explore things independently. I believe that students can learn the meaning of “diversity” and respect and sympathize with each other in this process.

Usually, children are quite sensitive to their surroundings, especially during puberty. While they’re growing up, they often think about their own personal identity and may feel gloomy. However, if they have a chance to have warm care, attention, and counseling, even if they are immature, they are likely to go through their adolescence safely. That is, home-schooling can create a stepping stone to maturity. I think that the most important thing for children in their adolescence is constant love and attention. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find such love and attention within today's school systems. Actually, it is not easy for teachers to care for so many students with the utmost care and love. But what if you spend your puberty in an environment filled with love and attention? Home-schooling can be an ideal alternative to the school system in this situation. As parents can communicate with their children at home, they have more chances to accurately comprehend and understand the student’s characteristics. Because they have already been through their own adolescence, parents are able to give precious lessons and advice in order for their children to create their own unique identity. Parents may work together to come up with real solutions whenever their children have emotional problems like depression. They can provide direction while fully considering their children’s preferences. Of course, schools can also afford those things to children. However, in homeschooling, parents can individually guide and plan education courses for their children while teachers have a harder time achieving this because they have too many students to look after. Parents can be better advisors, friends, and mentors in life to their children.

As mentioned above, many people think that home-schooling has more limitations in forming friendship with peers than schools have. However, schools shouldn’t be the only place to meet and make friends. I believe that home-schooled children can make friends through outdoor activities with their parent’s care and attention. Moreover, as children spend more time with their parents, they will learn to respect their elders. In fact, I think the most important thing in home-schooling is the role of the parents and the children’s attitude. If parents help their children manage their time properly, home-schooling can become a successful educational system that complements the drawbacks of public education. Assuredly, home-schooling can be a positive and promising educational system. I am sure that it will be one of the best alternatives to the problematic public education system.
